Chappell Roan - Hot To Go!! (Bandhug collab)

American singer-songwriter Chappell Roan is very popular in Australia at the moment, having recently taken out the coveted top spot on radio station Triple J’s Hottest 100 countdown with her single “Good Luck, Babe!” Another song of hers called “Hot To Go!” became a massive hit after a dance that is similar to the one used for The Village People’s “Y.M.C.A.” went viral on social media. This collab is the first one that I had started on Bandhug for well over a year, due to other musical endeavours taking up my time. The project took a little while to get going, after I had initiated proceedings in mid-January of 2025. Soon enough though, the track submissions started coming in with all of them sounding astonishing! This collab may just be one of the best-sounding that I have ever done, either on Bandhug or the older Bandhub! That’s a big call, but I believe it’s warranted! I was able to mark it as complete just over two weeks after I had started working on it, which is always such a nice feeling!

This collab features the following Bandhug users:
    Gevonovich - Vocals
    Protis - Synth Bass
    thx1138 - Electric Guitar
    N3R0 - Extra Keys
    Grant - Drums

Hi Alan Protis Here is a drum track for you I hope you like, you may need to boost my levels up if needed and there is a slight bit of distortion in my bass drum, that I can fix by lower my levels on my daw and resending see what ya think :-)

I love your drums, but yeah there is a bit of distortion there. It would be best if you lower the levels in your DAW and resend it, but what you played was perfect!

@Protis: Thanks Alan I am glad you liked it, great sounding collab, I have just replaced my drum video audio and lowered the volume on it, to stop its distortion, you may need to boost again on bandhug to lift it up in volume again, I think that will fit it :-)

@Grant : I think I've still got the old louder drums. Would you mind sendning me a mix suggestion? Maybe that will fix it.

@Protis: It looks the same its just a bit lower in volume, my old one is in drafts, I am not able to do a mix suggestion as I haven't upgrade this month and I am not a good mixing guy, copycat or yves are good at that stuff.

In Daw mode I isolated my first drum track and found the bass drum distoting there, now in solo mode it should be clear. Frank is good for mixing suggestion thx1138

@Grant : oh ok, thanks for letting me know. Maybe the sum of all the tracks makes it still sound distorted. I'll have a play around with it. Otherwise, it will be fine how it is.

@Grant : Try this one Alan, I am feeling lucky this time, it still may need a boost in the tools to bring it back up, but hoping the distortion on the drums is fixed, fingers crossed.

@Grant : this sounds so much better! I decided to lower the volume of the other tracks, rather than boosting yours. The whole collab sounds great!

Your vocals are absolutely brilliant! I love them so much! It's a pleasure to collab with you! As for other instruments, there are some other synth parts throughout the song that N3R0 might want to have a look at. That would be much appreciated.
