Comfortably Numb" is a song by the English rock band Pink Floyd, released on their eleventh album, The Wall (1979). It was released as a single in 1980 with "Hey You" as the B-side. The chorus progression and guitar solos were written by guitarist David Gilmour, while the lyrics and verse progression were written by bassist Roger Waters.

Comfortably Numb" is one of Pink Floyd's most famous songs, renowned for its two guitar solos. In 2004, it was ranked number 314 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In 2005, it became the last song ever performed by Waters, Gilmour, keyboardist Richard Wright, and drummer Nick Mason together. An early version was included on the 2012 Wall "Immersion Box Set".

Jay you are inspiring me to get back in the fray with BandHug. I was definitely in the process of losing my mind (and, more importantly, my enthusiasm) trying to sync things up in Record mode. I’ll watch your tutorial and move forward. By the way, your project here sounds really good! That being said, Seems like you still need to find yourself a really good screamer for that one crucial scream. I’m not the man for the job, but I recognize the song’s need. Surely someone good will answer the call if you ask. Rock on!

Thanks! Yes I need a good screamer and vocalist for those 80 tunes and haven't found anyone yet. I really miss Nick Will who was my go to guy on Bandhub. His vocals were fantastic. He signed up here but I don't see any activity, bummer. If you know anyone I would love to meet them here to get them on some songs.

@UkuleleJay : There is something about this song that many people strongly identify with. I was playing this once around a campfire on a beach halfway down the Baja CA peninsula with a collection of surfers. And it really struck me how much emotional resonance this song generated. The themes of being a kid in pain, but misdiagnosed and misunderstood, of being numbed but not healed , of emotional isolation romantically presented, seem to really speak to a lot of people. And then there's the guitar solo that launched a million air guitarists. :-)

@Surferbeto: Yes, I think we are of generation where that song stuck in our heads forever. I just loved Pink Floyd growing up. Funny how the lyrics still apply today in life if you think about it. Lyrics that are not written with a dated timeline are the ones that last forever and I think this is one of those. No matter what generation, what time period, the lyrics always speak to the current.
