Cover of the famous finale from the move The Blues Brothers.
Originally recorded by Solomon Burke under the production of Bert Berns at Atlantic Records in 1964. Burke's version charted in 1964, but missed the US top 40, peaking at number 58. Wilson Pickett covered the song in 1966, and his version (which explicitly mentions Solomon Burke in the opening section) made it to #29 pop, and #19 R&B in early 1967. The Blues Brothers' rendition talks about Illinois Law Enforcement department in the intro, who Jake and Elwood Blues are currently running from in the context of the movie.

Let's see if we can do it justice :-)

Well this seemed untouched for too long. Added "What is Love" speech by Sylvian Frost ( vocal effects for Foghorn Leghorn style ) may add some straight vocals later, this should really be finished

That's spot on, Steve - I especially like how you build in to the Chorus! Great job! I've republished with that track included.

Hi everybody,
is someone already working on vocals and the other Instruments? Should we ask on Yammer if other colleagues would like to join?

I don't know why the video is totally out of sync. Any ideas?

So long as the audio is in, I wouldn't worry about it :-)

Hi - I tried the first piano part today. I used the BT Only checkbox. I hope I was in sync with the backing track. Hope this is helpful.

Sounds great! I love the bright piano sound - it fits really well with the overall feel of the big band. We can definitely use this. I've recorded a piano line too, and I might pair ours up if they work together. It looks like your keyboard might have a range of sounds - do you fancy having a go at some of the trumpet / brass parts?
