"From the Beginning" is a song written by Greg Lake and performed by the progressive rock trio Emerson, Lake & Palmer. It was released on their 1972 album Trilogy. It hit #39 in the United States and was their highest-charting single there.[

The song was written in the key of A minor.[2] It is driven by an acoustic guitar line with layers of electric guitar (both rhythm and lead), electric bass guitar, and sung by Lake, with some backing on drums (played by Carl Palmer with congas, tympani mallets and without cymbals), and with a distinctive closing synthesizer solo from Keith Emerson, accompanied by overdubbed synthesizer sounds.[

Shawn, just an absolutely awesome, awesome vocal - ditto to what Anthony said, so smooth and what great atmosphere created there, so well done. I synced the vocal and will publish for now. A few things that instrumentally needs to be cleaned up (my acoustic), and I'll get Anthony's help on a few things and we will get the levels worked on a bit. Everyone's contribution is just top notch - Thank you!!

Thanks Bill, and so sorry for the long delay. Allergies are a bit more under control for the time being, plus I'm at home on recovery from having a biopsy taken from underneath my thumb -- so you can guess how they got to that (happy to send my gross-looking photo to anyone interested - haha). But concerning your acoustic guitar playing -- I think it's fabulous. Again, I'm really proud to be in this collab, and you guys always do a wonderful job. It's good to be teamed up with guys who love to get it right without being perfectionist to the point of inaction :)

PS - Just so you know, I appreciate the attention to detail -- what you did with whatever it's called when you play the same string several times in a row (at 3:04) right before the keys (played by ???) ... Now if we can figure out how to add those little bubbly sounds at the end (from keys I'm reasonably assuming).

Well, it's my first day back on the BH scene. My voice is a little weak, and I'm remembering the main frustrating thing about BH which is the aligning up of audio and video. If the DAW holds up and does what it's supposed to, the track(s) have to be moved forward by 00:32.853
Hopefully that'll take care of business.
All of you guys have done a really wonderful job with this collab. Very proud to be part of it, and thankful for your patience.
Please do let me know if I need to do anything differently. Happy to comply.

Cool Bill..that Analog Lab V with the ELP preset / brainstorm worked out great ! So happy to see this outcome. Nice playing and the green screen effect worked quite well.

Thanks for all your help - first time with the midi and first time with the green screen. We'll see what monster you've created.
