James Taylor/JD Souther - Her Town Too 1981, is a song written by James Taylor, JD Souther, and Waddy Wachtel, first released as a duet between Taylor and Souther on Taylor's 1981 album Dad Loves His Work.
The subject of "Her Town Too" is the aftermath of a breakup of a long term relationship. Taylor has called it "a tender, well-meaning song about how difficult it was to be friends" with both parties after the breakup. Since Taylor's marriage to Carly Simon was breaking up at the time, there was speculation that the song was about their relationship. However, Taylor has stated that the song was about "the ex-wife of a mutual friend.

Nice job gentlemen, sounds awesome!
Brian, Hi! Thanks for reaching out - we all get distracted by other projects and some get left hanging a bit. Some guys I had reached out to left the site for a while. I've got several other collabs waiting for some invitees to contribute - all in good time I guess. I actually did a run through with the James Taylor's vocal, but wasn't happy with it so I shelved it for now. The JD Souther harmony vocal really makes the song - hopefully I will stumble across someone who can deliver a nice track. You can message me if you have any ideas. Thanks!
billbassdude Hi Bill , its been awile . Hope your are well . Any sign of a Singer for your Great Sounding Colllab ?
Georgi, Wow - very nice, love it - thank you! I did a little sync - and it all is starting to shape up, but the vocals still need work for sure. I'm almost ready to get someone to add the JD Souther part. His part really makes the song. Once I decide to go with me or perhaps someone else on James' part and then JD's part is added we'll be good to publish. Very happy with everyone's contributions - it is just a really solid track.
Rhodes loaded. I didn't know you were gonna sing Bill. :) It needs a little synchronization everything.
