Kelly Willis ~ That'll Be Me
Kelly Willis is the self-titled third album from the Austin, Texas-based singer. There were a couple of minor Billboard hits in the #63 "Heaven's Just a Sin Away" and the #72 "Whatever Way the Wind Blows." Also of note is a duet with Kevin Welch, "That'll Be Me."
Sometimes in the middle of the night I reach for you in my dreams
Then I lay awake till the morning light tired of remembering
The river runs wide here the river runs deep I'd give that river my soul to keep
If I could only finally sleep awhile
That'll be me howlin' in the wind
Every time I come across your tracks again
Tell me how long has it been since I've been free
If you see a fire on the mountain side
All around the places I used to hide
That'll be me that'll be me
[ Mandolin ]
You and I we're gypsy born under the same old sign
If my tears for you are a thunderstorm my love is the sweet sunshine
You can't run far enough to ever quite outrun my love
I know who you're thinking of tonight
That'll be me walkin' through your mind
Talkin' to your heart most all the time
Stirring up memories of mine like a gentle breeze
If you hear somebody singin' you this song
Like they could sing it to you all night long
That'll be me that'll be me
[ Steel ]
That'll be me howlin' in the wind
Every time I come across your tracks again
Tell me how long has it been since I've been free
If you hear somebody singin' you this song
Like they could sing it to you all night long
That'll be me that'll be me
That'll be me that'll be me

DrumrDad That is so cool....Thank you. Don't happen to play steel guitar do you?
dennisski Hey, Dennis, see if you can use the bass track I added. Bill
Wow Rick That gives a new dynamic. Great sound
Dennis, after lynn did the keys, I thought I would try out my new Rode mic on my 12 string, just playing along to this. Did not sound too bad, kinda made the guitar sound a little fuller, so left it for you to consider, with a mix. Use if you like and hope a bass and slide jumps in. Great song, going to start playing it in the little local trio we have. Thanks
