King Crimson - Starless

Starless is the last piece on King Crimson's Red album. It is a beast of 13 minutes which was constructed during an improv session and then build upon. The piece which starts as a sad love song then evolves in a progressive fusion nighmare well served by Bill Brufford's mastery of syncopation and reverse time drumming, in 13/8 and finishes in a 3 minutes climax of jazz-rock keeping the same tempo until the grand finale.
Starless is rightfully considered a masterpiece of Progressive Rock, one of the most inventive pieces ever written.
