" Oye Cómo Va " is a mambo composed by Tito Puente in 1962. It was popularized by Santana with his psychedelic rock and Latin rock version in 1970, which reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 , number 11 on the Billboard Easy Listening chart , and number 32 on the R&B chart.
Santana's arrangement is a "driving, kick-start version" in a new Latin rock style (attributed to musicians such as Carlos Santana ), adding electric guitar, organ , and drums to the instrumentation and discarding Tito Puente 's horn-based section. The electric guitar part takes Tito Puente's piccolo melody , and the organ provides accompaniment (with organist Gregg Rolie 's occasional use of the Leslie effect ). There are several guitar solos and an organ solo, all rooted in rock and blues , but also bearing similar ties to the original arrangement. The song was inducted into the Latin Grammy Hall of Fame in 2001.

Hey Juan! Can I sing this?
This classic song of the latín rock is a great hit of Carlos Santana, if I don't mistake it's record in 1978
