The Sound Of Silence Simon & Garfunkel

Originally, the song "The Sounds of Silence" failed to chart when it was first released in late 1964, which led Simon & Garfunkel to briefly disband. Unbeknownst to the duo, their producer Tom Wilson overdubbed electric guitars, bass, and drums onto the original recording. This remixed version was released as a single in September 1965 and eventually hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on January 1, 1966
