Almost 50 years after it was recorded, regarded as an anthem of glam rock. All The Young Dudes, Bowie’s anthem for displaced kids, still sounds fresh today and continues to be covered by artists of every genre.
"All the Young Dudes" - David Bowie,
Originally recorded and released as a single by the English rock band Mott the Hoople in 1972
Bowie would subsequently record the song himself.
In 2021, Rolling Stone ranked "All the Young Dudes" number 166 in its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
It is also one of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.
This sounds really good you guys! Thanks for a lot of thoughtful mixing. This final mix is a big improvement. Rock on!
Dudes -- I think we're done. So carry the news....
@DIESEL_88_DRUMS I appreciate the way you thickened up the lead guitar sound by adding extra tracks.
I don't recall playing that bit of lead at the very end. Did you cut and paste that in? It sounds kind of cool but it cuts off midstream.
Rock 'n' roll!!
@DIESEL_88_DRUMS I made a bunch of fine timing adjustments to my guitar and vocal tracks - got them a lot tighter with your drums. Also adjusted mix on backing vocals a little and added the magic Laurast formula for reverb. Didn't touch joey or Tony's tracks - those guys are already immaculate.
Sync is much tighter now, vocals blend better, and everything sounds a lot closer to the mark. I'm pretty stoked about the improvement! If you also like the new sound then please publish this new mix. Rock 'n' roll!
It seems to be skipping/static do you hear it?
