PS -- My attempts at the click track were futile.

You know, it’s like I told John just try to approximate the feel.

okay ... I just spent a couple hours attempting to create some semblance of a click track to get the starting points after the several pauses in this song, so that I can start better. I had removed my vocal tracks and placed them in the Drafts folder. And now I've placed them back into the Studio. Like I said before, this song is a total mess. Not the cover. The cover is about as good as can get. The original is terrible -- not the song, but the timing. And I say this as a huge fan of The Beatles. How Bdajaysus (John) was able to keep up with the time signature changes after these pauses is amazing -- though John is typically amazing, seeing as his music memory is like Fort Knox, in being able to do such projects in the past as Pink Floyd's "Echoes" in one take (!). So kudos to you John. However, the way the Fab Four did this song is a total mess (as in they were all stoned when they did it) and the only way that I can think of to "fix" it would be to create sheet music with the time signature changes, which would allow the creation of reasonable click tracks. And we have to ask ourselves if this song is worthy of all that work. For me, I don't think I can do a heck of a lot better than I did. IF I was to redo my vocal tracks, I would NOT want the BT to mess with me. So michaeldixon , if you want me to try again, just move my tracks to the Drafts folder again, and repost the collab only with the cover band, and I'll retry. I have to be able to download the collab WITHOUT the BT and without my vocal tracks.

I agree with all your points. As it is now, it is just the cover- no BT so you can download it from the published version. Good work, Shawn, but don’t knock yourself out over this one. Our cover may end up being an improvement!

Shawn everything you said I concur with, your vocals are totally acceptable to me and definitely there are Beatles tracks that would have been a nightmare for the studio team in post production. There is no possible way to facilitate a click in any part of this song I put it on my playlist and push reply, after all that it is always a pleasure to join you and I look forward to more collabs in 2025.

I did the organs over. Published in Review without the BT. Shawm, please let me know if you're going to sing it again and you want the BT back,

Sounds good! Yes, I will want to redo the vocals for this, and I might try to take care of the backing vocals as well.

This is an odd, often-forgotten Beatles song, but I think we have a fairly close rendition here. It's coming along. I think I will do the droning organ part over again. I'm not really happy about the little twist I put at the very end, but I am really happy with the drums and cello. You guys did great!

First I'll say how good everyone sounds. Nice work, Yoshi, John, and Michael. So here's my first draft. I never realized how sloppy this song is. I'm thinking George might've been tripping, or at least had just finished smokin' a fatty before he started recording, as he's all over the place. And singing along with him tends to give me the same results. So if you like it in this sort of haphazard fashion, which is IMHO no worse than the original, I'll just see if I can do something with the BVs. And if you're not all that happy with it, I'll wait until we've got basically everything in place so that we can eliminate the BT and I can attempt to actually sing along to the beat of the song. I've included (just for kicks and giggles) an extra voice for the chorus, where I just cloned my voice and then added some FX to make it up the next scale.

Shawn, very good job on vocals! I hear the little trick you did, it actually sounds ok but I might still try and get 1tricktony to sing hat part. There is also a low harmony there I believe. I applied your DAW mix.Thank you!

@Michael Dixon: BTW, yeah, the "fog upon L.A. " was probably pot smoke! You did a good job following him, but as you said if you do it without his voice it will sound very close. I turned the BT down a bit more.
