In 1968 Canned Heat released this song as a single which entered the top 100 in Billboard. However this is the slightly longer LP version. The instrument at the beginning is not a sitar but rather a Tambura / Tanpura

7-21-2026 - finally figured out how to play the Tanpura (not sitar) portion of this track. Thanks to @billbassdude for the tanpura notes..Got the right scale and also the rhythm pattern down..added some pizzazz :)
