Sessions for the Flowers in the Dirt album took place in October 1987, when two songs were recorded: “Rough Ride” and “Figure of Eight”. Both were co-produced by Steve Lipson and Trevor Horn. This is the album version.
After the completion of the album, McCartney recorded a new version for single release, using his newly formed touring band. The new version is unusual in running nearly two minutes longer than the album version, rather than following the typical radio edit pattern of shortening the track for single release. Some versions of the single included an edit of the new version.

Took a run at the synth parts - I took down the other track, so it is all us with Paul's vocals for now. Still working the levels, more to come.
BT level set to zero, added just Paul's vocal and the mostly synth track, so it is just us rockin' steady and sounding great my friends. Really, really happy with the groove we got goin'. The mix levels are temporary - more to come.
Okay a bit of syncing - done! John, your drums are just incredible! Really great energy and the hits are so spot on. Tomorrow, I will take down the BT and replace with just the vocals and a little of the instruments just to have the synth mostly, Yoshis guitars will still shine as they do. I'll be working on the synth part to lead us in and elsewhere in the song. I hope to have a little more time this week. Thanks to both of you, this is really shaping up nicely.
