Jay and the Americans released "Come a Little Bit Closer" in 1964.
The song was written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart and appears on the 1964 album of the same name.
It was Jay and the Americans' biggest hit, peaking at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The song's B-side was "Goodbye Boys, Goodbye".
"Come a Little Bit Closer" is a first person cowboy song that takes inspiration from Marty Robbins' “El Paso”. Some say the song's chorus is similar to Ritchie Valens' "La Bamba".

Hi dan00075 This backing track is slightly higher than standard (A=440Hz → 443Hz) ....So I did my guitar at 443Hz.
