@thx1138: Thanks. I had a bit of a struggle getting this to sound right when I sat down to record it, haven't quite put my finger on why though. I do want to sit down with it and compare it to a metronome - after a couple of days. I suspect part of it is that the original track's timing is all over the place, maybe they were fooling with the tape reels or something.

I have Zildian and Paisti cymbals, but thosevyou see behind me are are Zildian's starter pack cymbals. It's their cheapest series. So right there I have two, one on top of the other to simulate a muffled China splash. I hardle ever use it.

@Bob : Ever heard of Sabian cymbals? Apparently it's more popular than I thought. It started not too far from where I grew up and there was a tiny shop in my hometown when I was a kid, it was pretty "modest" but they are decent cymbal apparently. But I don't know anything about drums lol

Bob 0 seconds When I was just starting out, it was just Zildian, then came Paiste and Sabina. Now there are custom and semi-custom cymbals of very high quality. My splash is a Sabian..

@Gino Caron: I love what appears to be some vintage looking Gibson amp in that vid too...I am not expert...But I think it has been a while since Gibson has made amps ?
