@CopyCat: Thanks, Van. I haven't been here in a long time. In fact, I never even EQd my drums. Published your DAW with a little tweak the EQ on 'em, and lowered the BT volume level a notch. Curious note. I recorded this as an intro onluy collab. Carlos came in and played the whole song with all guitar tracks, so I went back and re-recorded the whole song. I'd ask Clay to come in, but other than the intro, I think he'd be bored. Could use a vocal (wink-wink) but I think it's maybe not enough of a challenge for you. It's really a guitar song. I was never really a big Lou Reed fan but I thought this was one of the best instrumental rock intros ever recorded live.

Yeah, it was challenging enough for me. I recorded it one line at a time, to be as accurate as possible. I figured, this collab needs a vocal, for sure. Does this work for you?

@CopyCat : I'm sure it will. I'd publish now but this one won't open on my phone and I left my laptop at my house. I'll be back there tomorrow. I'll publish it then. I wishbwe had a button that you could toggle so you can give someone else publishing control, but I can see how that could mess things up. Two people hitting the publish button at same time. One line at a time? Jeepers. I hope it was fun and not too much of a chore.

@Bob : Oh yeah - Always fun to record tracks on my home DAW. I use Studio One software for recording. It always makes things easier and gives me a good result. No hurry to publish, of course. I mean, it's gone without vocals for this long, right? What's another day? :-)

So you got anyone yet to channel Lou Reed and sing this song like a rock 'n' roll animal?

Thanks, mate. Any ideas for vocals.

Actually, I did this song on bandhub with a guy who nailed the vocals. Can't remember his name.

@Bob : I played this song for years with my old church band (we used to play secular music too). Our version featured a strong 2-part harmony vocal attack. Our version was informed in equal measures by the Cowboy Junkies, Ian Hunter, and the voices in my head.

I especially love the break ("heavenly wine and.roses...) from Lou Reed's earliest version (which the Cowboy Junkies ran with and improved upon). Lou dropped that part in later published and performed versions, which diminished the song to my mind.

Wow you guys! Covering this song is like climbing Mt Everest. These guys were the most amazing session guitarists who ever didn't get their name in the liner notes of seminal rock tour de force performances. You guys are very ably filling some very big rock 'n'roll boots here. Bravo!
