The 1968 hit by Glen Campbell (written by Jimmy Webb) entitled "Wichita Lineman" there's no T in the wich portion
The story behind this beauty:
"Jimmy Webb wrote "Wichita Lineman" in response to Campbell's urgent phone request for a "place"-based or "geographical" song to follow up "By the Time I Get to Phoenix". His lyrical inspiration came while driving through the high plains of the Oklahoma panhandle past a long line of telephone poles, on one of which perched a lineman speaking into his handset. Webb "put himself atop that pole" with the phone in his hand as he imagined the lineman talking to his girlfriend. Despite its real-life roots lying elsewhere, Webb set his song in Wichita, Kansas.
Within hours of Campbell's plea from the recording studio, Webb delivered a demo that he regarded and labeled as an unfinished version of the song, warning producer/arranger Al De Lory that he had not completed a third verse or a bridge. "When I heard it I cried," Campbell said, "... because I was homesick." De Lory similarly found inspiration in the opening line. His uncle had been a lineman in Kern County, California: "I could visualize my uncle up a pole in the middle of nowhere. I loved the song right away."

2-21-25 - Updates: Fixed Mono intro on Bill's bass (offline), entire track is now even volume wise and channel wise. Synced Shawn's video with sound. Used the Trim feature and shaved off the negative value. Did multiple DAW mixes and settled on the most current which was at 12:50 PST today. The backing track is now muted. I think Owen may be adding a 1 or two more trumpet parts to widen the horn sound. beyond this I believe we are done.
The Collab is still Unlisted until we are completely finished. It's truly a gem and I'm anxious to make this Public. Open for other comments by anyone regarding additional instrumentation that may be necessary. Thanks to all that contributed.

Ant, I just resubmitted my guitar track. I wasn't happy with the way it sounded when played along with the rest of the tracks. Sounded to muddy. I cleaned it up and boosted the volume slightly. I think it sounds better now. Let me know.
Not sure if it works that way or not but I just "saved" a mix with my vocal track lowered a bit. I think it's currently too loud, so hopefully this will fix it. I'll trust the final positions to you, Ant.

Alrighty then -- here's my feeble attempt to do a Glenn Campbell song. We all know that the man's voice and playing is impeccable and I'm merely peccable ... peckable ... pecan bowl ... peek-a-boo I see you! Everyone's done a lovely job with their tracks. I hope my track is worthy -- If not, I'll try again. I'm just glad to be back ... or almost back.
