Guys, with Mike's guitar, we have a very nice result! Let me know if we need to adjust the mix or if you're ok to make this one complete. On my end, I'm good with the latter.

Thanks Mike. Sounds great! I didn't realize how much the guitar was missing until I heard your track. Now it feels like we have much better cohesion.

@CyberBass: Hi Rob, no rush. Quick question for you. Do you think there would be a way to have 2 combined sounds coming from one bass recording -- i.e. one with the main bass tone and another one that picks up the higher harmonics to sound more like a guitar tone (mimicking 2 separate tracks)? I'm guessing that there may be a way to use EQ or some kind of effect pedal. Without an effect pedal, what I'd try is duplicate the recorded bass track, apply a high-pass filter and offset it by a few milliseconds (or use a bit of Chorus).

@cyberbass - I have zero experience with octaver pedals but if I were a guitarist or bassist, I'd probably have one of those (for live use): https://www.guitarworld.com/fe........atures/best-octa

We can do some DAW work once you've recorded. This should be fun... Or we ask a guitarist to play the guitar part but it's so simple that we may not easily find someone willing to do it (unless you decide to undust your own guitar :)...

@Eric (@pcderic) : Hey Eric, yeah I often have a "2-channel" output from my bass gear (like Geddy does!). I also have an octaver but I hoestly don't think it fits in too many songs. It sounds like you are talking about a delay though? I don't have one of those. I like to keep the bass simple. I would def be using compression and sustain to fill out the bottom end.

But we can try with an octaver on one channel for sure. It's pretty effed up sounding to my ear lol

@CyberBass: On Thriller, you're using the octaver to get a lower octave correct (sounds cool BTW)? Can your pedal octave up (assuming it was a pedal)? I assume that you don't have that much control on the tone? My guess is offline work may be better. Sounds like you've been following Geddy, with your "effed-up" wording LOL.

@Eric (@pcderic) : my effin life! The octaver is what it is. I think intensity is all I can adjust.

@CyberBass: It's possible but let's just try with bass to see how it'll sound w/o guitar. I have a feeling it'll sound full enough.

@CyberBass: Hi Rob, thanks for trying the Octaver. I'm glad you pushed a test track. I think that a plain bass track would be better, do you agreee?

@CyberBass: Great job Rob. Sounds like you've fixed your recording issue you mentioned before. I love the notes that precede each chord, much less empty as before. Thanks! Published!

@Cyberbass : FYI, I tried what I suggested before. I downloaded your bass track, loaded it into Logic, copied it into a 2nd track with the processing I mentioned above, to make it sound like there's a guitar too (-20 db, pitch shift up by 1 oct, fuzz, HPF). Right now, you only hear that upload but we can ditch it if you prefer (let me know what you think).

@CyberBass: I agree with the bottom end. I adjusted the mix and republished (w/o the extra tracks). Let me know if there's anything to adjust.

@Bdajaysus: Very kind John thank you! Did you "synth-up" your kit for this one? Sounds to have a bit of electronic sound (which works well for this tune)

@CyberBass: Thanks Rob I worked within the system, the sounds are all integrated within the Roland module with some personal tweaking. Very happy with the finished sound quality. This collab sounds really clean and balanced.

Hi John, perfect track, perfect drumming, great sound! No change needed. Thanks so much for such a fast response! I kind-of figured it'd be your kind of song. Yes, she said she wants to do this one. Hey, who am I to argue? :-)
