This is a pretty great two chord song. It just goes on and on.

Need those gorgeous Garth Hudson-y keys now. Maybe @airedale ? Maybe @tonysurf70 ?

Thanks for the open invitation to this collab. I've had fun working on it. At first I didn't think I could sing that high. Then I had some hot tea and warmed up, and I found that I could go there after all. It's nice when we manage to exceed our own expectations. :-)

@Clint_the_Cool_Guy: This one kind of drew me in. I stayed up way too late working on it. A simple groove with a sweet melody and really plaintive harmony. A good example of the "less is more" principle in songwriting. And I still have no idea what it's really about.

@Surferbeto: Really? It’s simple man! It’s about Marlenas. Three of them. “Four Marlenas” would mean something completely different! Haha

@Clint_the_Cool_Guy: The most famous Marlena of the 20th century was Marlena Dietrich. I'm pretty sure she is not referenced in this song. She was so smoking hot in her day... :-)

@Clint_the_Cool_Guy I uploaded and synced a backing vocal track for your consideration. I hope you dig.

I sang the part 2x pretty tightly, worked 'em up a bit in Audacity (noise gate, compression, light EQ) and panned them 70% L and R.

I also cleaned up @joeykaraoke's lead vocal track a bit in Audacity (noise gate, improved sync, light compression, light EQ), re-imported it, synced, and clipped negative time. I added a little BandHug reverb to both vocals. I saved a simple mix in DAW mode.

I think it sounds pretty good. joey's original track is in draft mode if you want to revert for some reason.

Please publish new mix when you are happy with it. Rock on!
