I felt moved to cover this song from the Crazy Ex Girlfriend soundtrack (S3E4 "Josh's Ex-GF Is Crazy") as a tribute to its composer, the great Adam Schlesinger. It was one year ago this month that COVID19 cut short the life of this brilliant American songwriter and musician..
This song contains a plot spoiler. A couple lyrics may seem odd to you if you haven't seen the show. The song is a poignant soundtrack to protagonist Rebecca Bunch's dark midnight of the soul as she takes the ultimate walk of shame. Sometimes it may appear that your life's purpose is simply to be a cautionary tale to others.
