Bandhug collab as an official song release.....

Looking at Releasing top collabs to streaming services.

Bandhug collab as an official song release.....

I would like to hear your thoughts on this idea of officially releasing Bandhug collabs on streaming services as a way to promote the site.
  1. Permission by at least the collab organizer would be required.
  2. Credits would include all participant's Bandhug ID's (unless otherwise requested)
  3. Mechanical license would need to be obtained if possible. Simply stated, a mechanical license is required under U.S. Copyright Law if you want to manufacture and distribute recordings of compositions written by someone other than yourself. ( Cover Songs) They ensure that the music publisher, and ultimately the songwriter, gets compensated for the use of their work.
  4. Name of official artist on the songs to be determined by vote on our facebook group (Bandhug, Bandhug Players, Bandhug All Stars, Bandhug buddies, etc. ) When releasing songs for distribution we would need to provide the name of the song and the artist-band name. What do we call ourselves as the artist-band? The Artist-band name would be listed on places like spotify, apple music, etc.
  5. Any proceeds would go toward the site.
  6. Release would be a "Best of Bandhug" type annually. Example: Top collabs of 2022 . Also voted on by our facebook group before release.
Hoping this will encourage more effort to create quality collabs, participation, and promotion. and of course give our little site and the music we play some sense of legitimacy.
Just throwing this out there as an idea.
Please comment and tell me what you think on this subject.
