I replaced the Les Paul track with a new one. Sound tweeking and overdubs between 01:40 - 02:19. The old one is in the draft if you prefer it. I submitted a mix to rebalance the two guit. Tell me what you think. I decide to add the overdubs to this track to minimize the number of tracks but I can send them separately if you prefer. I can tweek the mix easily so don't hesitate to let me know if you want some change or if you have any idea to share.
Claude take as long as it takes you are still in recovery . No pressure my friend . Guys I am blown away by everyone's commitment here and the effort you all are putting in.
John,
I had to balance the volume on my Synth Piano track, the Piano was too low compare to the Synth. So I upload a new track and remove the old one to DRAFT.
Hank87 Bdajaysus guizubao pcderic - Gentlemen ! We have ourselves here a fine collab ! A rocker by who? What ? The OSMONDS ! Here is an idea...How 'bout we all participate by recording us singing the 'Crazy Horses' bit ? I cannot sing for beans but this is for fun right and it is more like talk-singing. This could be fun and awesome. If we upload our tracks Eric would do his Final Cut Pro magic and combine it into one video track. Sounds good ?
I'm in! Let's try to record and stay still so that I can crop a vertical rectangle from us 4 into one landscape video, ok?
In other words, record yourself in normal landscape but not too close to the cam and talk-sing at the right times with "crazy horses". And of course, do crazy stuff in between.
Hank87 - Hi Hank. Thanks so much for your vocal track ! Well done ! I added some echo to that part...Hope it was ok ?
Hank87 -- Yeah, very nice Hank. I personally think that the echo was a super idea thx1138, especially at the end before the outro.
guizubao - Rocking Basstrack ! Wild and heavy like Stallions and Mustangs ! Thanks so much ! Fantastic !
@bdajaysus forgot to mention, but John, you rocked very hard! What a great drummin’!
Hey guys! What a nice song! Really liked it, and never heard it. And you guys sound AMAZING! Great job everyone!
guizubao - Thanks so much for listening and the nice words ! I had no idea this rocker was from the The Osmonds ! Please join us if you have time. That would be Amazing !
dennisski Sorry to bother you again but when I press record, the green bars are jumpinmg all over the place and I haven't plucked a string
Dennis, the mic is good but my track is still picking up the other tracks
Folks, I need to re-do the bass track because my recording picked up the BT :-{ Otherwise, it's perfect!
Stu, sorry about my mixup. I've sent two tracks.. All synced for your approval. BTW Great Job by all.
N3R0 Gevonovich cbgb: Wow! I'm happy I "CALLED YOU" on this one!! --Thx
Hi guys, great job everyone as always ! . A bit late, but as promised, here's the vocal track. I hope you enjoy it . ;-)
CyberBass - Wow, nailed it! Way to break-in a new bass! That's a Rickenbacker and it's new, right? Oh and that Interlude part. You kidding me? Looove it! Published (after updating BT#2 for fills).
@Eric (@pcderic) : Thanks man! Noooo, I bought this bass in the 80's. It's an original 1975 4001. Worth considerably more than I paid! (see honey, buying guitars IS an investment...)
@Eric (@pcderic) : I passed on doing all the fancy fills on the outro. They all just sounded goofy when I tried.
@CyberBass: For sure, a great investment for a great sound and to look cool, of course! ;-)
@ksam: FYI, I updated the invitations to only keep the vocals but your original invitation went away because you're blocking invitations. Consider yourself invited. No rush of course.
@Eric (@pcderic) : I'm busy IRL right now no time for Bandhug and I have 4 collabs to do in my list so if you're not in a hurry later when I have time I could see what I can do .
@ksam: Allo Sammy, merci, ça me va. Pas de presse. Je comprend très bien.
arejay222 - Awesome stuff sir ! Thank you so much ! I especially like the Vocal FX with your 'GHOSTBUTERS !!'. Appreciate you joining me on this silly song !
@LoLoVoz back at you for this Very Well Done and Outstanding run at Babyface! Cudgedrums your tight pocket set the stage for a smooth flow and captured the drive behind the Mix! Take a Bow Front Liners!
Excellent job guys!! @cudgedrums, the drums are on point! Fantastic job!! @cudgebass, bass is kicking and the guitar is on fire!! Very well done! I appreciate you both doing this song with me, it has always been one of my favorites and I feel like we did it justice!! Bravo!!!
I have so many typos. Gonna type slower. I luv it sheen you all record live to Bandhug, but lately. Instead off getting to retire. Work is getting even busier. So I found using the off line recording technique has helped me immensely, but I do prefer the look of the get it done thru direct resting Bandhug style track recording , sorry for the delay,
i used an old lap steel i had, i can add delay if u want but I thought to leave it as is
let me know. i put in some back graound where the synth goes, if we get synth I can delete those parts. also. bte. Im not from San Franscico. but liivin in Ohio, my background got a bot messed up
A welcome addition Joseph thank you for joining, maybe the whole collab would benefit from an offline daw unfortunately I don't have the necessary expertise. Sounds very good otherwise.
@Bdajaysus: Thank you Joseph, great track. Regarding you questions/suggestions I, like John, don't have enough knowledge, maybe yoshikoba could give us a hand with those issues.
Good song selection and a fine performance by all. Love that jangly 12 string
And thx to the entire ensemble: Clint_the_Cool_Guy CopyCat yoshikoba and Grant !!
Hi Stu - Got my tracks in! Let me know if you want me to redo anything or change anything up. I don't mind re-recording if needed. It's fun to work on the song anyway.
Sent you two tracks, Frank. The one in drafts is a cover track. The one in studio is an improv track. Take your pick. I'm not sure the cover track fits as well as the improv track.
cbgb - Both great tracks ! Thanks man ! I took my pick ! Appreciate you joining.
b33zo - Yes John ! Your swing ! You Hit Home Run Vocals my friend ! Thank you so much ! Well done ! Who better to sing John Fogerty than John right ? Thanks so much for your quick sub ! Really appreciate your time, talent and effort !
SixStringRick - Thanks Rick ! Please join. It would sound great with your acoustic rhythm on this if you have the time. Please ?
@thx1138: Squeezed in a track before superbowl kick off. Glad to revisit if needed, thanks again for the invite.
@Rick : Thanks so much Rick ! So Good ! So Fast ! Isn't this a cool song ! ? I published your mix...I think my guitars are too dominant...We will my all means remix as more Bandhuggers join. Thanks so much ! Enjoy the Superbowl !
@thx1138: Great, glad it will work, and again can make any changes needed. We play this one in our set- always a fun Fogerty favorite, just have not found a “baseball bat” guitar yet!
Added organ throughout. It was difficult to hear where the trumpets and oboe came in, but I think I got them close. Let me know what you think.
Super, Jim. And the Bangles dance steps raise production values. Cheers.
Hahah - not exactly known for my moves - as you can see. I've redone the bass to fit better :-)
Hey, Bob. Been busy but I'm back in the saddle. Do you have a go-to bass player who might dig this one?
Hi Mike I have done another track here and have put the first track into the drafts folder, this is more modern jazz kit, since the brushes sound wasn't going to work, you can go either kit Mike, I hope you like it. :-)
Thanks Grant both versions sound good to me but I'll keep this latest one on if that's ok with you cheers Mike
Hi Mike I have a drum track here, maybe the old vintage kit sound is not right anyway late tomorrow I will do a more modern drum kit sound, just to give option, guitar and lead sound great Mike.
Cheers Grant the drums sound great. I have published them but if you wanted to try a different sound then please do and we can then decide which one to use. If you don't have the time then these will be great. Thanks for your help on this one cheers Mike
Hi Everyone ,I just came back to listen to this song that i remembered i was going through a tough time and didnt see it through . I guess the sheer nature of the song was a bit to much for me at the time , but i must say what a truly wonderful job Heather did on the vocals . Well done to Yoshi for his as usual excellent Keys, and should someone wish to ad some Bass i would be happy to put it up. Cheers Joey.
What a sweet compliment and I’m sorry you went through a hard time. I don’t know how to control who puts bass on what, but I say go for it!
@Heather Diaz: My pleasure Heather , and i hope we can do something again in the future .I can add the Bass should it come along, being that its my collab . Cheers .
@joeyman1: I’m always down to do more! I have officially returned to bandhug!
@Heather Diaz: Great addition. Such a beautiful sound!! @Joeyman1 isn't feeling well so I'll be publishing this for him.
Thanks, Frank. There was something weird with my track when I last listened to it. Not sure about. After the intro, at about 30 secs in to about 55 secs, it sounds like it slows down. Is it just me?
jaybern - And a Bustin' Bass heads on in ! Thanks pal ! Love the walking bassline ! You nailed it play-wise and tone-wise ! Right on ! What ?! No wig this time ? Was kinda hopin' for a Mariska Veres look this time LOL !
lol I was thinking wig,, and I saw a liver version but they were lipsinging they were dressed up all nice and stuff so I was gonna do that, went down to practice and I went with the track cause it came out pretty good. next one Ill be wiggin it wiggin it
cbgb - Hey Bro ! Received the notif...Splendid track you sent....Ok to pub ?
Yes, I think it's ok for now. Let's see where we go. Always ready to improve.
@Bob : Excellent work man ! Thanks so much ! I particularly like what is going on with the Hi-Hat....Do you remember when this song first came out ? Real popular I guess ?
Bdajaysus: John, sorry about the mix-up but I already invited someone else for the drum portion. If it doesn't work, I hope you'll consider
yoshikoba: Yoshi, thx for taking ownership while I was away. I'm back now so I'll take over
dennisski: Dennis, please return ownership to me when you have the time
@admin: You're too god. Btw, if you remember, I was having trouble with the Bandhug site (colors running, and BT added to my bass track. No emergency, but whenever you have some time, maybe we can discuss.
@stubass: Trouble resolved by resetting to original. I think it's OK now
I submitted the bass line for your review in two tracks: first half+second half. I could get it in one if you want....maybe a bit more gain too. I guess you could boost them if needed?
This is a tough one to sing but not for CopyCat. Allan Clarke would be proud. Good chunky and lively guitar sound with a rock steady back beat by Tudan.
Thank you for the invite! tudan first time hearing the song, i'll send a track soon.
Added a rough rhythm guitar, just to see how it sounds. I can do another take (with mistakes fixed..) tomorrow night if you think it sounds ok.
sounds ace jules - audio stops at 247 so would be great if you use the same feel and preset when u rerecord tomorrow. loving the jam dude. nice one!
@tudan : Yep no probs. I stopped because I messed up that weird guitar break in the middle...
tudan new draft done, sounds better. I'll learn the second part soon, and upload that too.
@Celticbattlepants: Kicking out the jams big time mate. Just boosted your volume and pushed the timing forward a tad. Superb work Jules
@tudan : Thanks Ross! Just what I needed doing another collab :)
@Celticbattlepants: did a police cover today if you are interested. not invited anyone to it as wanted to leave it open. May well do some more maiden stuff seeing as were not gigging at the moment
@tudan : Second guitar part done, but will need synced... its in time, but is lagging a bit.
@Celticbattlepants: Synced up great and now just waiting for bass guitar. Great feel on both tracks brother. feels good to collab again :)
Carole is coming to the studio this weekend so I will get the drums tracked this weekend. Sorry for the wait CC
Woww!!! Sounds fantastic!!! Good job everyone!! thx1138 Souns good to me mate :)
